From Uniplex II Plus version 6.10, the dictionaries have been based on a list of root words and a set of linguistic rules allowing the creation of a larger number of "Word Forms" for spell checking purposes. This allows Uniplex to ship a larger dictionary in a smaller space - the size of dictionaries for languages such as German would have been impractical using a simple word list. The list below gives the size of each dictionary currently available, based on root words and an approximate number of word forms.
