This is supplied in uncompiled form, and is compiled at install time. Customers wishing to spell check in multiple languages may purchase the Additional Dictionary Pack (ADP). This contains all 11 language dictionaries in a compiled format. They should, therefore, not be compiled at install time. $PORT@@ CCCCC The Uniplex 6.10 Installation Guide (page 5) describes the use of the $PORT variable. It reads "Set this variable to anything other than 0 to prevent Uniplex deleting any dictionaries during upgrade. You may set any name or number." This is true except that: H...L...T.......T.......T.......T.......T.......T.......T.......T....R 1) Setting $PORT prevents the dictionary source files and compiler programs from being deleted, not the dictionaries themselves. 2) Setting $PORT to any value including 0 prevents deletion.@@ IIIIIIIII 3) $PORT is used for a different purpose when installing the ADP -  the install script supplied on the ADP tape will attempt to compile each dictionary if the shell variable $PORT is set. As the source files are not present, this will fail generating a number of error messages. It is therefore important to ensure@@ AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA that $PORT is not set before the ADP package is installed.@@ AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
