To improve performance, Uniplex 6.01 interrogates the /etc/utmp file@@ IIIIIIIII directly. Version 5 Release 3 of the operating system for this machine has a different /etc/utmp structure from the previous release.@@ IIIIIIIII This means that Uniplex 6.01 will not operate correctly with this release. In particular, popup messages (Mail Notification and Alarms) will not be delivered. Uniplex 6.10 uses a system call to interrogate /etc/utmp, and should@@ IIIIIIIII therefore work with either release of the operating system.
